MUTUAL FUND INVESTING

Sa ngayon try ko isulat ang advantages sa pag iinvest sa mutual funds at ang common terminologies na kailangan maintindihan agad ng isang would-be investor, this was actually from an email I got before I opened my initial investment, medyo mahahaba ang explanation on every advantages kaya minabuti kong iklian at inincorporate ko lang to my own words base sa pagkakaintindi ko.

Mutual Funds are the best growth instrument for ordinary income earners for these 3 very simple reasons:

1. AFFORDABLE

For a minimum of Php5000 initial investment (and a minimum of Php1000 every additional investment) ang mutual fund ay pinakamainam na paraan para mapabilis ang paglago ng pinaghirapan natin. Napakamura kung tutuusin para makapagsimula ng investment. Lalo kung ikaw ay baguhan sa tinatawag na pag-iinvest, this will be a good way to start. It is possible to invest this low dahil ang mga mutual fund managers ay iipunin ang pera ng maraming investors para lumaki ang fund nila na in return will enable them to purchase stocks and bonds.

2. PROFESSIONAL FUND MANAGEMENT

Para sa katulad ko na gustong kumita ng maganda sa stock market or any form of investment, it will be a good way to ride on an instrument na handled ng experts. Just like going to a place you are unfamiliar with, you need to study the map, educate yourself about the place and the road and you may end up lost on the way. With Mutual Funds, you are like traveling on a bus wherein the expert bus drivers will bring you safe and sound to your destination. Mutual funds are managed by professional fund managers (bus drivers) - people who have spent their lives honing the craft of growing your money through the equities and debt markets!

3. LIQUIDITY

Ito ang isa sa pinakamagandang benepisyo sa pag iinvest sa mutual fund is with the liquidity of your investment. Whenever you need to withdraw some or all of your funds, ang mutual fund company ay required ang investment mo unlike sa stock market na kelangan antayin mong me buyer bago mo makuha ang investment mo. Though as experts suggets, mutual fund investments should be for long term so I myself discourage na iredeem sya on a very short period of time.

IMPORTANT TERMINOLOGIES IN MUTUAL FUNDS

I'll also try na maidescribe ang bawat terminologies to the best of mmy knowledge, some may not as it is self-explanatory)

NAVPS or Net Asset Value Per Share
The value of a mutual fund share.  It is calculated by dividing the total net asset value of the fund by the number of shares outstanding.  The mutual fund’s NAVPS for the day is normally released after 4 pm of the said date.

Sales Load
A sales charge deducted from the investments of clients in the fund at the time the investment is made.  It is normally expressed as a percentage of the investment to be made by the client.

Exit Fee
A fee charged to an investor for withdrawing money from the mutual fund prior to the end of a pre-specified holding period.  It is expressed (and charged) as a percentage of the assets being withdrawn.
Pagdating dito, iba-iba ang bawat mutual fund company, me mga mutual fund companies na waived na ang exit fees when you reach a certain period.

NAV or Net Asset Value
The total market value of all the assets held by a mutual fund less the market value of all its liabilities.  Assets consist mainly of cash and fund investments in stocks or bonds.  Liabilities include fees and other payables of the fund.

Sales Load
A sales charge deducted from the investments of clients in the fund at the time the investment is made.  It is normally expressed as a percentage of the investment to be made by the client.

Stock certificate
A physical document representing ownership in a company.

So, ayan ang unang unang pinakadapat maintindihan sa mutual fund, iyong ibang terminologies, di naman sya ganun ka importante sa aking pananaw, but if you think you should know more madali naman syang matutunan. Many mutual fund companies offer toll-free consumer inquiry lines. If you're considering purchasing a fund from a particular company, ask for product literature or visit its Web site.
